According to the San Diego Farm Bureau website the Tu Mercado Certified Farmers’ Market takes place every Wednesday from 11am – 2pm on the University of San Diego campus at 5998 Alcalá Park (map).
When I tried to attend this market, I couldn’t find it, and the security guy didn’t know what I was talking about. Perhaps it was a fluke -new guy or just one oblivious to all things unrelated to parking – or perhaps it was simply because I went during what would have been the first week of classes.

The Welk Certified Farmers’ Market Place takes place every Monday from 1pm to 5pm in the Winter, and 3pm to 7pm in the Summer at 8860 Lawrence Welk Dr. in Escondido (map).

This spring I had an opportunity to participate in an Introduction to Organic Farming Workshop Series at La Milpa Organica. The workshop was the first of its kind, and was created through a coordinated effort between the farm and San Diego Roots Sustainable Food Project.
